<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which prevents an increase in a processing time, and also, performs parallel operation of printing processing and image display processing without being mounted with a plurality of image processing hardware. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes: a hardware decoding means configured to decode the image by the hardware; a software decoding means configured to decode the image by software; a printing means configured to print the image decoded by the hardware decoding means; a display means configured to display the image decoded by the hardware decoding means; and a control means configured to, when decoding the image to be displayed by the display means during the decoding process of the image as a printing object by the hardware decoding means in order to print the image by the printing means, control the software decoding means to decode the thumbnail image of the image to be displayed, and then, control the display means to display the image based on the decoded thumbnail image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
