The bar (12) has two prop parts (16, 18) made of plastic material, that are aligned in a prop longitudinal direction in two different positions. The prop parts are connected with one another with respect to the prop longitudinal direction. One of the prop parts comprises integrally formed fasteners (14, 20) whose free ends are turned away to another prop part, where the two prop parts are designed as plastic injection molded components. The prop parts comprise two shaft portions (17, 19) steplessly locked to each other and lockable in the prop longitudinal direction. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle body.
