The shoe (10) has a clamp element (70) sliding along a preset displacement direction (P) for clamping an electric conductor i.e. cable, and a guide device (100) guiding the clamp element while sliding along the displacement direction. The clamp element slides between side walls (30, 50) of the cable shoe, which are arranged parallel to each other and to the displacement direction. Guide elements (110, 120) of the guide device are formed on the respective side walls, and extend along the displacement direction. The guide elements spatially face each other. The guide elements are formed as grooves, slots or projections. An independent claim is also included for a method for clamping an electric conductor in a cable shoe.
