The invention relates to a process for producing storage-stable prepregs and shaped bodies produced therefrom (composite components). In the present process, reversibly crosslinked composites or storage-stable prepregs are produced by means of a hetero-Diels-Alder reaction (HDA) of, for example, PMMA polymers. At a slightly elevated temperature, these prepregs can be reversibly decrosslinked again by means of a retro-hetero-Diels-Alder reaction so as to become malleable. The backreaction to form crosslinked or high molecular weight products again then occurs at room temperature.
