A light generation unit generates modulated measurement radiation, a light transmission unit transmits measuring beam to a portion of internal body cavity surface, and an optical system (9) receives a signal radiation of the portion of cavity surface. An image transmitter sends signal radiation from distal to proximal end of endoscope shaft (2), to be received by time-of-flight (TOF) image sensor (15). A control and evaluation unit controls light generation unit and sensor and evaluates sensor data for generation of 3D data. A position sensor detects position and orientation of shaft. An independent claim is included for a method for endoscopic three-dimensional (3D) data acquisition. |
