<p>The invention relates to a brake system for a vehicle, having a brake actuating element (10), a first piston-cylinder unit (12), the first piston (14) of which is adjustable by means of the brake actuating element (10) actuated by at least one predefined minimum actuation, so that a first internal pressure in the first piston-cylinder unit (12) can be increased, at least one wheel brake cylinder, the braking pressure of which can be increased by means of the increased first internal pressure in the first piston-cylinder unit (12), and a first braking force amplifier (24). The brake system comprises a second piston-cylinder unit (26), the second piston (28) of which is adjustable by means of the first braking force amplifier (24), so that a second internal pressure in the second piston-cylinder unit (26) can be increased, and to which the at least one wheel brake cylinder is hydraulically connected, such that the braking pressure of the at least one wheel brake cylinder can be increased by means of the increased second internal pressure in the second piston-cylinder unit (26).
