<p>Shear apparatus and method comprising a first member 101 and movable shear members 104/105. The first member has an aperture 102 defining a main axis 103 through the first member. The first member acts as a guide for the blade members 104/105. When the cutting members 104/105 are moved by a driving force parallel to the main bore axis 103 they are guided by the first member 101 towards the aperture. The cutting members may move perpendicular to the main axis. There can be two movable shear members which may be moved by separate driving means (501/502, fig 5a). The apparatus may form part of a subsea tree, shear ram tool, pressure control equipment or blow out preventer BOP.</p> |
