The device (1) has a converter (5) for arranging articles (2) on a forming unit (7) from a feed conveyor (6), where the forming unit includes a set of forming elements (8) with a drive. Each forming elements include a displacing plane and two parallel separative elements that are attached on the displacing plane such that the articles displaced on the displacing level are adjusted parallel to the separative elements. A slider is provided to adjust the articles displaced on the displacing levels of the forming elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for packaging articles.
