PURPOSE: A control device of a motor driven vacuum pump for a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to amplify the force applied to a master cylinder while operating a brake pedal by applying vacuum pressure to a brake booster. CONSTITUTION: A control device of a motor driven vacuum pump for a vehicle comprises a pressure sensing part, a motor drive unit(13), a power supply unit(15), and a control unit(17). The pressure sensing part senses vacuum pressure supplied from a brake booster. The pressure sensing part comprises a contact switch type first pressure sensing unit(12) and an analogue type second pressure sensing unit(18). The motor drive unit drives the motor(11) of the motor driven vacuum pump. The control unit controls the motor based on detected result transferred from the pressure sensing part.
