PURPOSE: An infrared ray sterilizer flow control device and a method thereof are provided to offer optimal drinking water by accurately forming water flow within sterilization capacity of an infrared ray sterilizer. CONSTITUTION: An infrared ray sterilizer flow control device includes an infrared ray sterilizer(130). The infrared sterilizer receives fresh water supplied from a fresh water generator, sterilizes with infrared ray and makes drinking water. The infrared sterilizer includes a flow sensor(132), a valve controller(133) and a flow control valve(134). The flow sensor detects flow of the fresh water supplied through the solenoid valve. The valve controller generates a flow control signal regarding the flow. The flow control valve controls the flow flowing into a sterilization chamber embedding the infrared ray sterilizer regarding the flow control signal generated in the valve controller.
