<p>A marine towing system for towing streamers or sources for increasing the lift applied to the spur line 126, includes a connecting line 124 with a first paravane 132 connected to one end whilst the other end is connected to a vessel 122. A spur line 126 is then connected to the first paravane and is configured to provide tension to maintain keep the streamers apart. A second paravane 134 is also connected to the connecting line, between the first paravane and the vessel and configured to increase an angle (α4) between the connecting line and the spur line. The system can also have a device to connect the first paravane, spur line and connecting line together, which may comprise of straps 135. The first connecting line may be a rope, and the first and second paravanes can have a wing to allow for a change of orientation. There may also be a third paravane (620 fig 12), or the first paravane may consist of a cluster of paravanes. The towing system can also have the second paravane (610 fig 12) connected to the first (608 fig 12) via a connecting link (608a fig 12), and a second spur line (610a fig 12) configured to provide further tension to the streamers 128.</p> |
