Suction device and control method

The device (20) has a lock for fastening a housing of the device at a housing of a drill hammer (1). A controller (122) is provided for a fan motor (120) i.e. electric motor. The controller includes sensors (124, 125) e.g. Hall sensors, and a pickup coil (127) for detecting an operating mode of a rotating drive motor (5) e.g. universal motor, of the hammer. The sensors and the coil detect a magnetic field produced by the drive motor. The controller activates the fan motor when the drive motor is in a rotating operating mode and an intensity of the field exceeds a threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a control method for a suction device.
