In a plate heat exchanger used for evaporating a liquid, in particular a refrigerant, at least one region of a plurality of swirl pipe ducts (11), which are situated adjacent to one another and run in the flow direction, is integrated in the plate gap which exists between two adjacent heat exchanger plates (1.1, 1.2) and which forms a flow duct. The fluid, which passes with a swirl impetus into the swirl pipe ducts from an undulating region (8, 10) with intersecting undulations (8a, 10a), is conducted in a circulating motion through the swirl pipe ducts (11), such that firstly, the flow path is lengthened and longer contact with the duct wall is realized, and secondly, still-unevaporated liquid droplets entrained with the already-formed vapour are centrifuged against the hot duct walls owing to the centrifugal force and are evaporated.
|
