A safety helmet combines a rigid body 21 with a head-harness comprising a flexible, resilient head-band 2 with tongues 3 projecting up to the helmet crown connected by a lace 5, a resilient cushioning member 8 between the head-band and the helmet body having upward extensions 9 corresponding to the tongues 3 and located therein by studs 7 which receive self-tapping screws passing through holes 22 to attach the harness to the helmet body, and a head-strap 15, connected at its ends 13 to the head band 2 and adapted to engage under the occipital bulge of the head. The member 8 is of foamed polyurethane and a pad of the same material is affixed inside the body between the ends of the tongues 3. (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). The headstrap 15 is adjustable at 19. |
