The present invention relates to a trailer, and particularly, a side wall system for converting a trailer between an open flat bed configuration and a cargo box configuration trailer. The present invention also relates to a cargo compartment or‘box body’for mounting to the chassis of a trailer or a vehicle, the cargo compartment having a side wall system for converting the compartment between an open flat bed configuration and a cargo box configuration. In each case the there is provided: a fiat bed mountable on a chassis, a side wall which extends upwardly on the fiat bed, characterised in that the side wall is divided into a pair of side wall panels which are operable to move from a first operative position in which they form at least a portion of a cargo box on the fiat bed, to a second operative position in which they are located substantially below the flat bed adjacent the chassis to provide an open flat bed configuration.
