Characteristic curves drawn using critical sheet conveyance parameters, plotted against optimal sheet parameter of specified printed are stored in memory. Actual specified sheet and printer specification data of print job are input to CPU. Based on the input data, CPU accesses optimum characteristic curve from the memory and outputs appropriate commands to individual actuators and allows operator intervention, if required. An Independent claim is also included for regulating and/or controlling device for air guide system.
