The tool unit (12) has carrier sections (31, 32) forming tool holders, where rear sides of the carrier sections detachably contact to one another in a common contact plane (52) and are arranged at front sides of a bearing surface (40) to accommodate tools i.e. plate like cutter heads (38). Interlocking components are arranged in a predetermined position relative to one another in the plane for centering the carrier sections. The tools are attached to the carrier sections via a mounting device, where the mounting device extends through the carrier sections from the front side to the rear side. The interlocking components are designed as feather keys or dowel pins. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a plate like cutting or punching tool (2) a device for comminuting a feed material with a rotor-stator system.
