<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device for which there is no need for connecting a terminal device used in a TV telephone system and a set-top box by a cable, and in which convenience is improved. <P>SOLUTION: An Internet IF 21 receives audio data, from a party, retransmitted by the set-top box. An echo canceler unit 23 uses the audio data from the party received by the Internet IF 21 to perform echo cancel processing on audio input by a microphone input unit 25. A video-audio encoder 24 then encodes echo-canceled audio and transmits it to the Internet IF 21.
