Apparatus and method for testing blow-out panels

The apparatus comprises a box-like housing (10) defining two contiguous inner chambers (11, 12) communicating directly with one another through an inner aperture (14) which is closable by applying a blow-out panel (P) thereupon. At least one (11) of the two chambers (11, 12) is provided with a hermetically closable door (21). Both chambers are pressurized and sealed. Opening the door (21), an instant pressure drop is caused in one of the two chambers. The pressure within the other chamber (12) causes the panel (P) to break.
