<p>A battery includes a battery element having positive and negative electrode plates and separators for insulating these electrode plates, and a battery case provided with a plurality of storing cavities divided by partitions for accommodating battery elements, each of the storing cavities of the battery case accommodating a battery element. The battery element has a positive current collector plate connected to the positive electrode plates and a negative current collector plate connected to the negative electrode plates on side faces on opposite sides from each other. Part of the positive and negative current collector plates respectively form a protruded portion protruding from an area along the side face of the battery element in an opposite direction from a bottom side of the storing cavities of the battery case. The partitions of the battery case are formed with a respective hole within an area facing the protruded portions of the positive and negative current collector plates, with the current collector plates of adjacent battery elements being connected to each other through the hole. A projection maintaining a distance between the partition and the current collector plate is formed at a position within an area between the hole and a connecting portion between the current collector plate and the electrode plates, at least on one of the partition and the current collector plate.</p> |
