<p>The gearbox (1) has a body (16) made of plastic material and internally reinforced by a rigid reinforcement tube (6). The reinforcement tube extends on entire length of the body, where the reinforcement tube is made of composite material. The composite material consists of matrix of thermoplastic material such as polyamide, polypropylene, thermosetting material compatible with plastic material of the body. The matrix is reinforced by fibrous material such as glass fibre or carbon fibre or aramid fibre. The reinforcement tube includes polyamide matrix reinforced with a fabric of glass fibres. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a steering gearbox of a motor vehicle.</p> |
