<p>Disclosed herein are novel compounds which are useful as intermediates for producing substituted sulfoxide compounds and a process for producing the same. Further disclosed is a process for producing the substituted sulfoxide compounds used as pharmacologically active agents, employing the novel intermediates of the present invention.</p>
