PURPOSE: A user information method selecting a graphic button based on pointer movement and an electronic device using the same are provided to execute the graphic button without the physical button manipulation of a user by determining the graphic button selection of a user. CONSTITUTION: If a pointer is located in a graphic button, an electronic device calculates a movement distance of the pointer(S130,S140). If a movement direction of the pointer is changed, the electronic device increases factors by 20%(S150,S160). The electronic device adds up the amount of pointer movement with a value obtained by multiplying the factors by the movement distance in order to accumulate the amount of the pointer movement of the graphic button. If the graphic button is selected, the electronic device executes the graphic button(S180,S190).
