PRIMER SET FOR DETECTION OF XANTHOMONAS THEICOLA

PURPOSE: A species-specific primer for detecting Xanthomonas theicola is provided to save costs and labor for diagnosis, to resolve a problem generated from an agricultural field, and to improve breeding of high quality Thea sinensis L. CONSTITUTION: A primer set for detecting Xanthomonas theicola contains base sequences of sequence numbers 1 and 2. A method for diagnosing bacterial canker in Thea sinensis L. comprises: a step of isolating bacterial DNA from a sample; a step of performing PCR using the primer set; and a step of separating PCR products by size. A kit for detecting Xanthomonas theicola contains the primer set.
