An image processing method using map information and an apparatus thereof are provided to acquire a position of a photographing device through map information. An image processing method using map information includes: judging whether or not a specific zone selection command is inputted(S310); transmitting a map information request command with respect to a specific zone to a GIS server(S320); generating a command requesting information regarding photographing devices(S330); transmitting the position information and addresses of the photographing devices(S335); matching the position information with address information(S340); producing map information containing the position information(S345); transmitting the map information and the address information to a display device(S350); displaying the map information(S355); judging whether or not a specific position information selection command is inputted(S360); and transmitting an image request command to an image storage server(S370). |
