PURPOSE: A smart key system and a theft prevention control method are provided to authenticate a smart key user by using the gesture of the user. CONSTITUTION: A smart key system(10) includes the following parts: a FOB(100) receiving a user gesture, generating a gesture code corresponding to the gesture, and transmitting an RF signal containing the gesture code; and a smart key unit(200) checking if the gesture code is identical to a preregistered user code when the RF signal including the gesture code is received, and if identical, requesting ignition-on from a BCM(Body Control Module)(300) connected to a vehicle network.
