PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve noise reduction effect on image data, with no change of capacity of a memory. SOLUTION: The noise reduction device includes a line memory 12 in which data is stored, an encoding part 11 which converts a pixel value of the image data inputted from outside to a code which is smaller than the number of bits of the pixel value and represented by the same number of bits across all pixels of each line, and stores the code obtained by the conversion in the line memory 12 by an amount of a plurality of lines, a decoding unit 13' which reads codes by an amount of a plurality of lines out of the line memory 12, and decodes the code, and a noise reduction process part 14 for reducing the noise contained in the image data available by decoding using the decoding unit 13'.
