PURPOSE: A system for supporting police work using a prior wireless communication network and a mobile application operating based on a smart phone device and a method thereof are provided to enable a policeman to perform background check, inspection, investigation and wanted list inquiry in real time by using a communication network. CONSTITUTION: While a terminal of each policeman communicates with a communication server located in a police department, it is checked whether the terminal is allowed through a terminal serial number. If a license plate number of a specific vehicle is photographed by a camera and is asked for the inquiry, a server identifies the license plate number using optical character recognition technique on the basis of the transmitted data and then outputs the related information on the terminal after receiving the related information from a database. When an emergency wanted list is made, the wanted list information is outputted at the terminal of each policeman. The location of each terminal is checked on a map by grasping the location of each terminal using geographical information, and a support request is sent to a policeman located nearby. If basic personal information is inputted to inquire the background identity of a specific person, the server transmits detail background identity information to the terminal through the connection with the database, and then the terminal outputs corresponding information. |
