PURPOSE: A food additive containing brazilin is provided to have an effect of protecting keratinocyte irritated by ultra violet rays and restraining factors engaged in a skin photo-aging. CONSTITUTION: A food additive contains brazilin or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The food additive is all kinds of food including candies, drink, chewing gum, tea, a vitamin composition, or health assistant food. Skin aging includes a skin keratinocyte damage and a skin photo-aging damage.
