PURPOSE: An image processing device for detecting fire in an image and a method thereof are provided to be applied to real-environmental monitoring by obtaining candidate fire and verifying the candidate fire with a randomness test algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A color probability image generation unit(103) calculates a fire color probability for pixels included in a specific frame of an image and generates a color probability image. A motion probability image generation unit(105) calculates a motion probability for the pixels by using a background image and generates a motion probability image.
