The device has a maintenance part (40) intended to maintain a nut (30) in a screwing position in a fixation hole (12). The maintenance part comprises a nut fixing unit for fixing the nut on the maintenance part and a reserve unit for retaining the part with the nut in the screwing position in the hole of a fixture (10). The nut fixing unit includes elastic clamping legs directed toward an interior of the maintenance part and distributed on an internal periphery of the part. The legs retain a base plate (32) of the nut by clamping. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a fixture on an assembly line by a nut.
