PURPOSE: An information storage medium test method and a recoding method are provided to secure recording quality when information is recorded in an information storage medium which includes a plurality of recording layers. CONSTITUTION: A test signal is recorded in an OPC(Optimum Power Control) area of a read-in area. A test result is obtained by reading the test signal. The test signal is recorded in the OPC area of a read-out area. The test result is obtained by reading the test signal. Information necessary for improving record quality or reproduction quality is generated by using test results.
