PURPOSE: A physiologically active composition containing an Aster yomena extract as an active ingredient is provided to ensure antioxidative and anticancer effects and to remove nitrite. CONSTITUTION: A physiologically active composition contains an Aster yomena extract as an active ingredient and has antioxidative, anticancer, and nitrite removal effects. The extract is a methanol extract which is prepared at 95 deg. C for 3-48 hours. The phenol content is increased by extracting Aster yomena at 95 deg. C for 6 hours.
