The apparatus (110) has a lever (122) rotatably moved with respect to a chute (116) and a push rod (119) according to axles (124, 126), respectively, where one of the axles is linked to a support (121). The lever is rotated to drive a piston (118) in translation according to a translation axis (130) of a guide pin (120) between high and low positions. The rod is located away from a rotation axis (140) of a food processing tool (114). The axis of the pin is located in an inner volume (135) of the chute. The axles are located lower than a top (129) of the support when piston is in low position. The food processing tool is a cutting disk.
