PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display apparatus is provided to make a viewer watch a stereoscopic image regardless of a viewing position using a glassless mode. CONSTITUTION: A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes an LCD panel(11), a backlight, a stereoscopic film(13), an active deflector(17), and a position tracking unit. The backlight alternately supplies light coming from a first light source and light coming from a second light source to the LCD panel according to the frame period of the LCD panel. The stereoscopic film placed between the LCD panel and the backlight supplies the light from the first light source and the light from the second light source to the LCD panel after changing the refraction of the light. The active deflector placed in front of the LCD panel controls a light transmission angle according to the position of a viewer. The position tracking unit detects the position of the viewer.
