A method for processing the glycerol phase from transestrification of fatty acid triglycerola consisting in that the glycerol vapors obtained by introducing a glycerol fraction containing more than 40% by weight of glycerol into a neutral high boiling point liquid heated to temperature above 573 K, are contacted, possibly in a neutral gas stream, with a heterogeneous acid catalyst having redox properties, at temperature from 520 to 640 K, was disclosed. Conversion of glycerol leads to production of acroleine and allyl alcohol with significant efficiency. |
