PURPOSE: A screen golf system capable of simulating putting and a method thereof are provided to display putting simulation images when a golfer putts in the middle of playing golf, thereby allowing the golfer to perceive the ground gradient condition of the green and to appropriately putt according to the perceived ground gradient condition. CONSTITUTION: A screen golf system(100) capable of simulating putting comprises a putting ground part, a club close sensor(120), and a main computer(130). The putting ground part provides a partial putting route so as to run a golf ball putted by a golf club. The club close sensor senses whether the golf club approaches the golf ball when golf simulation images are in a putting mode. The main computer grasps the ground condition of the green displayed on the golf simulation images when the golf ball is on the green and is putted. The main computer has to control at least one simulation image that the golf ball runs toward a hole-cup according to the perceived ground condition to be displayed prior to putting.
