PURPOSE: A device for measuring a 3D effect of a 3D image and a method thereof are provided to measure the quality of the 3D image by objectively evaluating quality according to depth levels. CONSTITUTION: A depth information generating unit(110) generates depth information per frame about a 2D image. A histogram generating unit(120) generates the generated depth information per frame as a depth information histogram indicating a depth map distribution chart according to a depth gray value. A 3D value calculating unit(130) calculates similarity between the depth information histogram and a uniform distribution histogram as a QM factor by using a Bhattacharyya coefficient.
