<p>There is provided a winch and a method for driving the same which is suitable for use in floating production storage and off-loading units or vessels where high pull loads are needed. The winch comprises a winch wheel, a main cylinder, apositioning cylinder, a pawl cylinder, and a pawl. Advantageously, the winch allows a pull load capacity of at least 450 tonnes at full drum. The combination ofthe various cylinders and method of driving the winch ensures safety and avoids slippage.FIGURE 1</p> |
