Provided are a support for supporting metals, a metal-supported catalyst, a methanation reaction apparatus, and a method relating to these, which are capable of achieving the efficient methanation of carbon monoxide. The support for supporting metals according to the present invention comprises a carbonized material obtained by carbonizing a starting material including an organic substance and a metal, and supports metals exhibiting catalytic activity with respect to the methanation of carbon monoxide. The metal-supported catalyst according to the present invention has: a support comprising a carbonized material obtained by carbonizing a starting material which includes an organic substance and a metal; and a metal which is supported by the support and which exhibits catalytic activity with respect to the methanation of carbon monoxide.
