摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread thickness measuring method that enables accurate measurement of tread thickness from a belt surface located at the outermost of a tire to a tread surface through ultrasonic measurement irrespective of belt materials. <P>SOLUTION: A tread thickness measuring method includes: a shape measuring step of measuring an outer shape of a tread surface; a groove bottom position specification step of specifying a groove bottom of a groove extending in a tire circumferential direction, from the outer shape obtained in the shape measuring step; a depth estimation step of estimating depth from the groove bottom to a belt surface, from the groove bottom specified in the groove bottom specification step and preliminarily-generated tire design data; a thickness prediction step of calculating predictive thickness from the tread surface to the belt surface, from a relationship between the thickness from the groove bottom specified in the groove bottom position specification step to the tread surface in the outer shape and the depth from the groove bottom to the belt surface estimated in the depth estimation step; and an amplification factor setting step of setting an amplification factor of a received reflective wave according to the predictive thickness, on the basis of a preset amplification factor-thickness data map. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
