摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To activate in an early stage an HC purifying catalyst that is in an inactive state by inducing post-combustion continuing from main combustion, and to suppress production of unburned HC in a post-injection in a later stage in which the fuel is less likely to combust. <P>SOLUTION: While the catalyst is in an inactive state, a main injection, to induce main combustion in a cylinder, and a plurality of post-injections, to inject fuel after the main injection to induce post-combustion continuing from the main combustion in the cylinder, are carried out. In the post-injections, an injection amount of the post-injection in the later stage side is decreased with respect to an injection amount of the post-injection in a former stage side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
