METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPAIR OF SUBSIDENCE DAMAGE

A spacing means for attaching a drywall panel to a wall allows lateral, but not normal movement between the wall and the drywall panel. This allows drywall panels to be attached to internal faces of structural walls repaired following subsidence damage whilst further settlement of the structural wall is still happening. The spacing means take up the relative movement arising from post-repair settlement such that cracking and damage to the drywall is minimised. Fixtures and fittings may be attached to the drywall as for conventional drywalls. The apparatus and method allows interior repair and decoration of buildings, which have been repaired structurally following subsidence, to be soon after structural repair and without need to monitor post-repair settlement or wait for such settlement to desist.
