The invention relates to a device for degassing liquid to paste-like media (1), in particular fibre suspensions in a closed container (2) which is connected to a vacuum source and which has at least one inlet (3) and at least one discharge (4) for the medium and at least one overflow (5) for separating excess medium (1). The aim is to improve the controllability of the level of the medium (1) by forming the overflow edge (6) terminating the overflow (5) at the top so as to be non-flat.
