<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display control program capable of increasing visibility of a character designated by a user while suppressing deterioration of visibility of a whole screen. <P>SOLUTION: A character input or edited from an operation part is arranged on a display line and displayed. At this point, the character is displayed in a dot pattern of a display size (a size for one dot and a size for two dots) predetermined in accordance with the number of display lines. If the number of display lines is two lines, a dot pattern of an alternative mark 103 is displayed instead of a dot pattern of an icon 102.
