PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium iodide with which ionic electrical conductivity can be enhanced.

SOLUTION: Lithium iodide anhydrate is brought to include a ≤3% intensity ratio [(b/a)×100] of diffraction peaks in an X-ray diffraction analysis, wherein (a) is the intensity of the diffraction peak in the neighborhood of 2θ=25.8° originated from lithium iodide anhydride and (b) is the intensity of the diffraction peak in the neighborhood of 2θ=20.7° originated from lithium iodide monohydrate.
