<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve energy saving and a low cost with a minimum installation area in a heat medium oil boiler having heat medium oil directly heated by the exhaust gas heat of an engine and to be mounted on a marine vessel by obtaining the high efficiency of heating the heat medium oil in the heat medium oil boiler and by integrating an exhaust gas damper device with the heat medium oil boiler. <P>SOLUTION: The heat medium oil boiler having a heat medium oil directly heated by the exhaust gas heat of an engine and to be mounted to a marine vessel has such a structure that a heat medium oil tank is disposed outside an exhaust pipe and a folded oil passage is formed along an outer circumference of the exhaust pipe in the heat medium oil tank. The heat medium oil is efficiently heated while exhaust gas passes, and a space for installing an exhaust cylinder can be kept in the exhaust pipe. The exhaust gas pipe and the exhaust cylinder are formed as a double-pipe, and a heating route and a bypass circuit are integrated by employing a system of selecting a channel for the exhaust gas.
