<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpet using a biomass resource-derived material, which excels in wear resistance, reduces the amount of use of oil resources, and which can suppress an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: The carpet uses, for the pile portion, polyethylene terephthalate fabric made of a biomass-derived component. The carpet is characterized in that the biomass resource-derived carbon ratio (measured biomass ratio), determined in terms of radiocarbon (<SP POS="POST">14</SP>C) density in circulation carbon of 1950 era contained in the polyethylene terephthalate fabric, is ≥10% relative to the total carbon atoms in the polymer, and that the carpet has the wear reduced rate of ≤20%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
