<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vertical line noise without deterioration in image quality in a live view mode operating with a first driving frequency. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises an imaging device comprising: plural pixels arrayed two-dimensionally; a vertical transfer unit; and a horizontal transfer unit. In a driving mode (live view mode) of operating with the first driving frequency (half clock), information (temperature, sensitivity, etc.) for predicting the magnitude of a dark current in the imaging device is acquired (S15).
