METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DISPLAYING UNREAD MESSAGE

A method and system for displaying an unread message, which belong to the field of communications. The method for displaying an unread message comprises: pulling an unread message in a locked screen state (110); and when an unread message exists, displaying a corresponding unread message application icon on a first active hotspot on the locked screen, or if no unread message exists, hiding the application icon (120). Previewing an unread message comprises: receiving information for activating an unread message application icon in a locked screen state, and displaying a detail entry which contains a predetermined number of unread messages on a second active hotspot; dragging the unread message application icon to a third active hotspot, and entering a corresponding application main window, or dragging the unread message application icon to the detail entry, and entering a corresponding message window of the detail entry. The present solution achieves display of an unread message application icon in a locked screen state by way of displaying an unread message and achieves direct access to a corresponding unread message through a displayed unread message application icon.
